What Is Fashion Week?
Fashion week is a multi-day series of runway shows where designers debut their newest collections to buyers, press, celebrities, and fashion fans. The Bureau Fashion Week produces runway shows in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Miami — and unlike the invite-only stereotype, The Bureau’s shows are open to the public: anyone can attend by purchasing a ticket.
How Fashion Week Works
Each fashion week runs over several days, with multiple runway shows per day. Designers present upcoming-season collections on the runway; each show features a lineup of designers and typically lasts around an hour or two with multiple collections. Front rows are filled with press, buyers, and VIP ticket holders; general admission guests fill the remaining seated and standing areas.
What Happens at Fashion Week?
- Runway shows — the core of the event: designers debut new collections
- Red carpet & step-and-repeat — arrivals, photos, and street-style moments
- VIP lounges — premium ticket tiers include lounge access and amenities
- After parties — select events continue after the final look (varies by city and season)
Can Anyone Go to Fashion Week?
At The Bureau’s events, yes — no industry credentials or invitations are required. Tickets range from general admission to front-row and VIP packages. New York tickets start at $105. Start with How to Attend New York Fashion Week — Beginner's Guide or jump straight to tickets.
