To apply to model at Fashion Week with The Bureau, submit the official model application at thebureaufashionweek.com/fashion-week-model-application. The application is free, open to models 18 and older, and does not require agency representation. You will need four photos (headshot, full-length, three-quarter, and comp card), a walk video, and your current measurements. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and you can apply for up to three markets — New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, and Miami Swim Week — in a single application.
Who Can Apply
The Bureau accepts model applications directly — you do not need an agency to apply. To be considered you must:
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of application
- Be able to attend castings and fittings in your selected market(s)
- Submit accurate, recent photos and measurements
Prior runway experience strengthens an application but is not required — new faces are reviewed every season. Height and measurement expectations vary by designer and market, so apply with accurate details and let the casting team evaluate your fit.
What You'll Need to Apply
Photos (4 required)
Your application must include four photos, each uploaded directly in the application form:
- Headshot — clear and recent, with minimal makeup and natural styling
- Full-length shot — fitted, simple clothing that clearly shows your proportions
- Three-quarter shot — from roughly the knees up
- Comp card — your current composite card (if you don't have a professionally printed one, a clean digital layout with your photos and stats works)
Avoid heavy filters or retouching — casting teams need to see how you actually look.
Walk Video (required)
Upload a short video of your runway walk. Film in good lighting with the camera steady, walking toward and away from the lens. Wear fitted clothing and heels (womenswear) or simple fitted clothing (menswear). This is one of the most important parts of your application.
Measurements and Details
Provide accurate, recent measurements in the form, including your height. Measurements are verified at castings and fittings, so submit real numbers — inflated stats are the fastest way to lose a booking.
Social Media (optional)
You may include your Instagram and TikTok links. They are optional and never required, but an active profile with clear photos of you can support your application.
How the Application Process Works
- Submit your application at the official model application page, selecting up to three markets.
- Review — every application is reviewed by The Bureau's casting team on a rolling basis. You'll receive a confirmation when your application is received.
- Casting — selected models are invited to in-person or virtual castings. See Virtual Castings for how remote castings work.
- Booking and fittings — models chosen by designers receive booking confirmations with call times, fittings, and show-day logistics.
When to Apply
There is no fixed application deadline — applications are accepted year-round and reviewed on a rolling basis. That said, casting activity ramps up in the weeks before each event, so applying early gives you the best chance of being seen for the season you want. Check upcoming Fashion Week dates and apply well ahead of your target market's show dates.
Tips for a Strong Application
- Use recent photos — if your look has changed, reshoot before applying
- Keep styling simple: minimal makeup, neutral fitted clothing, no sunglasses or hats
- Practice your walk and submit your strongest take
- Submit accurate measurements — they will be checked
- Only select markets you can realistically travel to for castings, fittings, and show days
- Watch your email (including spam) after applying — casting invitations are time-sensitive
